There is good news on the homefront for the popular East Kingston based UPRISING Roots band.  Notably, the five-piece Rastafarian outfit, has scored distribution deal with VP Records for their 2011 album Skyfyah. The groups is thrilled about the deal. Publicist Bridgett Anderson says, "It is hoped that this relationship will assist in expanding the reach of this talented group of musicians," Anderson said in a release.

Darren Hamilton, band manager indicated that this is the first agreement of this kind with a major distribution outlet for the band. The album, however, is also available online through Zojak Worldwide distribution network.

Uprising Band boasts a number of fiery singles, including Brightest Light, Know Yourself, and Skyfyah, the title track.
