Freddie McGregor sets sail.

Freddie McGregor is scheduled to release his 36th studio album, "Di Captain", this August. The 15-track set is his first album of original songs since Mr McGregor which was released in 2009 by VP Records.
Etana and British artiste Gappy Ranks are among the guests on the album alongside Guitarist Dalton Browne, a longtime member of McGregor's band; the Firehouse Crew, Paul 'Computer Paul' Henton, the Gumption Band and Dean Fraser.The album was recorded over a four year period between Stingray Studios in England, and Big Ship studio in Jamaica. McGregor stated that it was a very important album for him.
McGregor's
musical career began in 1963 at the legendary Studio One at the age of six years old and was affectionately known as Little Freddie. He later form a duo with Ernest 'Fitzroy' Wilson as Fitzie and Freddie.Then teamed up with Wilson and Peter Austin to form the Clarendonians. During the 1970s he recorded hits like Bobby Babylon and gained greater popularity in the 1980s after releasing the now legendary "Big Ship" album which included the best-selling song of the same title.
