Theatergoers are still raving over Jamaica's hit play "The Politicians," which was sold out in Queens and Hartford Memorial Day Weekend, compliments of promoters Irish and Chin. Written by Paul O. Beale and Directed, by Bunny Allen, "The Politicians" has landed a huge following in the Tri-State area. And of course, local fans deemed that Keith "Shebada" Ramsay, one of Jamaican theater's biggest names, boasted stellar performances, commanding laughter from the big crowds every step of the way with outlandish punch lines and jokes. Audiences are once again set to roar, when Shebada touches down in New Jersey (Campus High School, East Orange) on Saturday, June 23 and Bronx (Evander Childs High School) for the play's final Tri-state stagings. Adding to the humor of Shebada is an immensely talented cast, which includes Delcita, childhood star Christopher "Johnny" Daley of tv show "Lime Tree Lane," Michael "Stringbeans" Nicholson, Abigail "Babalita" Grant, Junior Williams, Stacy-Ann Brissette and Patrick Smith.

Since his historical debut in the monstrous play "Bashment Granny," Shebada has taken "Roots" theater and the world by storm. Much to his credit, the popular actor has achieved a cult-like following and fan base for his razor sharp, over-the-top and funny character that he portrays. The New York Tri-State area is gearing up for loads of laughter, fun and excitement -- driven by an important back story -- when "The Politicians" returns this weekend. Ramsay promises that theatergoers will get more than their monies worth as they are afforded with the ins and outs of politics in Jamaica, while soaking in incessant humor. Ramsay confirms "In this play, I am a college drop out and pastor's son who becomes one of four candidates for office.... the real fight will boil down to a hysterically funny one between Delcita and I."

Unlike the boisterous, outspoken character of Shebada, Ramsay is quite soft spoken.
