Long time radio disc jock Michael 'Mighty Mike' Jones is dead. The 52-year-old broadcaster who had been ill for some time, was found dead at his Bucksfield home in St Ann last evening.

His son Hasani 'DJ Sani' Jones says the family is in shock. Jones said although his father had been ailing, he did not know it was serious enough to cause death.

Several entertainment personalities have been paying their respects to Mighty Mike via the various social networks. Some noted that he had been a mentor and an inspiration to them.

Mighty Mike joined IRIE FM in 1992. Before that, his disc jockeying skills were honed while working at various entertainment venues.
