Kingston, Jamaica – March 19, 2012 -- On Easter Monday April 9, famed promoters Irish and Chin will return to blaze Montego Bay's Pier 1 with one of Dancehall's premiere calendar events, World Clash Jamaica R.E.S.E.T., formerly known as Death Before Dishonor. The defending champions Black Kat, winners of several World Clash titles, will be back in the arena alongside 7x World Clash champion Bass Odyssey and 2x champion Kilamanjaro. Black Blunt, who is considered the sound system ruler in Western Jamaica, and St. Andrew based Code Red, round out the local contingent. Jamaica's 'fearsome five' will be fiercely contested by Rootsman and Heavy Hammer sound systems from Canada and Italy respectively.

Sound Clash audiences are abuzz, as World Clash Jamaica had taken a two-year hiatus. The event's return this year has taken on an even more momentous occasion as Irish and Chin celebrates 15 successful years of unearthing and highlighting sound system talent. To specially thank their loyal fans, the promoters will treat them to give-a-ways from Japan's number one sound Mighty Crown, who is also a 7x World Clash champion. Mighty Crown's selectors Sami T and Master Simon will be on hand to dole out 15 free pairs of their limited edition Nike sneakers, which are sold out and thus can't be obtained elsewhere. Likewise, British selector and clash icon David Rodigan will make a special live appearance spinning from his masterful dub collection.

The enigmatic Tony Matterhorn, who became the first consecutive holder of an Irish and Chin World Clash title, will be the host of World Clash Jamaica R.E.S.E.T. In 2012, Irish and Chin launched campaign R.E.S.E.T., which stands for Restoring Exciting, Soundsystem Entertainment Together. The brainchild of Irish and Chin co-owner Garfield "Chin" Bourne, R.E.S.E.T. in part involves a synergistic strategy to unite juggling and clash sound systems in one arena -- where 45s meet dub plates, making the event appeal to a medley of Dancehall fans.
