boxSoul Supreme is back in the arena. Good news!  They are the missing piece to this whole "Biltmore Warlords of Brooklyn" saga and their return will be interesting to say the least.

Supreme will have a lot to prove right off the bench.  There will be no warming up for them.  Clash fans will take no excuses!  This is of course is the unfair truth. Soul Supreme will be expected to match the return of Earth Ruler, LP, and King Addies all of which have recently created a buzz here and there in Brooklyn's local arena.  Let's take a second to recall their returns....King Addies, although suffered a great lost to LP recently, has made an impact among clash fans by announcing a new crew and winning Global Clash.  Earth Ruler played well against Black Kat first time out and went on to impress clash fans at World Clash.  LP beat the shit out of Addies in a one on one grudge match and went the necessary distance with Blunt Posse! All of which has added to the recent excitement lingering throughout Brooklyn's clash community.

So I take it that Soul Supreme will be expected to do the same by giving fans something to talk about right off the bench. I can tell you this, in the 90's Soul Supreme had a hard time proving that they were a major contender even though they had a talented crew and a deep dub box.  A clash fan called into my Sound Chat radio show and once said: "Soul Supreme bussed too fast in the 90's. They had it all over night...big sound, big dubs, etc but they never adopted the huge fans base that LP, Earth Euler, and Addies earned.  In other words the caller was pointing out the fact that the other Biltmore sounds went through a growth process with local clash fans.   They started from scratch and continuously managed to build a fan base.  Soul Supreme took the scenic route! They just bussed overnight.  No build up, no nothing!   New York just woke up one morning and there was a new sheriff in town!   This is a fact that I strongly agree with and I think has hurt them greatly.  Nevertheless their contributions to the Biltmore era cannot be denied.

Here is my question:  Since it has been said that Soul Supreme retired from the clash arena with a small fan base, what awaits their return? Will it be a smaller fan base or will it be a situation where clash fans impartially give them a chance to prove themselves?  I'll tell you this much, if the tables turn and Supreme gets a fair chance musically. sounds will have to think twice about clashing them. But if the tables don't turn!  Supreme a go get some RASS kick! Hey I am just calling it like it is!

Big up to Junior P and the whole Soul Supreme crew!  Go hard or go home! June 1st, Albany Manor, Brooklyn.
