My visit to England was absolutely an amazing experience. Other than the 14 hours a day ground travel, I enjoyed every minute of it. England has a rich dancehall history and a huge and important story to tell. I have to say thanks to Valerie and DJ Amarley from V-Rocket sound system, and Gus from Silver Star sound for being the perfect chaperones. I covered so many grounds and I spoke to so many artistes and selectors. All this footage and more will be available in weeks to come in Season 4 of Irish and Chin’s Sound Chat TV program.
Let me warn all of you; the information and accusations captured in these interviews are not only surprising but mind boggling. You know how it is; some persons will always say that they were the number one sound of the early dancehall era. So as you watch each episode you are sure to hear conflicting testimonies. For example you will hear one sound saying that they won a particular event and later on another sound claiming to have one that same event, lol. And you will also hear some of England’s original dancehall artiste saying that many Jamaican artistes visited England in the early 80’s and patterned their style and lyrics then claimed that such styles and pattern were originated by them (Jamaican artiste).
Furthermore I am extremely proud to say that Unique FM, London and StingDem.com, Birmingham have now joined the Sound Chat radio family. So in addition to streaming live in Boston, Brooklyn, Connecticut and New Jersey we will now be streaming on two stations in the UK madd. It’s sound clash history and believe me Season 4 will be very entertaining.
