Give me your advice...

squingy(1) Today I had a really interesting conversation with Daimeon and Mark from Bass Odyssey as it relates to Squingy.

For those of you who are unaware of the announcement I made at Squingy's funeral, let me get you up to speed. During my speech at Squingy's funeral, I mentioned that the next World Clash trophy would be renamed the Squingy Cup.

This would ensure that Squingy's memory lives on in the clash arena for generations to come and would be my way of showing appreciation for all that he has done to uplift the World Clash brand.

After the funeral, I thought about it quite a bit and decided that I was not going include the Squingy Cup factor in the promotional campaign for Death Before Dishonor 10. Instead I felt it would be better embraced by patrons, if announced at the start of the event.

I made this decision in part to elimate any negativity that would surround the staging of this tribute. There are some bastards out there that would twist my intension and see it as a money making scam, accusing me of trying to use Squingy's name to sell the event.

When discussing this with Mark and Daimeon, they understood my reasoning but stated that I should not have allowed what people would say to alter my intensions. They thought it would have been better embraced if the Squingy Cup was publicized prior to the event showing the world how much Squingy meant to clash industry.

Very Noble you\'d take that approach!
Squingy had devoted a very huge portion of his life towards clash and it would only seem fiting Squingy\'s name live thru the clash scene.

Good idea. I don\'t think it would necessarily give Bass Odyssey an advantage though. They will still have to play well enough to win. There\'s always someone to criticize either way. Wish today\'s dub plate selection had the depth of 10-15 years ago, the dubs are basically the same from one clash to the next. Also notice no one plays any exclusive \"special\" anymore ?

sorry sir,though you were a jamaican you remember 2008 uk cup when squingy ask rodigan waht he knows about spur three hill when they plays garnett for garnett,well i would say the same what you know about yard tings but you a good fans still.i can share the real grassroot ting with you still you know when they come foreign oh by the way i am ja living oversees now,so i travel to see them,anyways we are odessey fans and may the king R.I.P .bless

im not jamaican and i dont live there but every body knows suzie and lenny used to deal that is old news ,i was born in barabdos and now lives in new york and i been a bass odyssey fan since 92 when i first heard them in a clash with black kat. im 37 you can tell me nothing about odyssey you may live in yard but i follow odyssey ,i still have every clash with them for 92 till now like the 3 the hard way with jaro ,and jammys and jammy all night talk about them buss bounty and turn around and play the pre release to miss ivy last son and odyssey then play it on dub and done the dance ,or metro media and odyssey buju fi buju ,beenie fi bennie ,bounty fi bounty clash ,living in yard dont mean you know more than me it means you live in yard ,or when lenny go play amplex and come to new yok and clash a sound name first clash and got murdered ,as long as odyssey was in the united states i saw them play im a fan you live in yard do you travel to see your sound play i do

Cant name the clash dat but you can give the outstanding selector for the night a separate cup, the man wey buss di dance with some big speech an a gwan good, a so yu honor Squingy. anyway it can work still cause di fans dem is fair if odyssey nah gwan good de people nah go bais

From i know myself people always get honored when they die,a just so of course we all know squiney is the best but how would the other feel if you honor him alone,maybe he would have to retire.Why not suggest that something rather than a cup that will finish this year name after him.Which dub you can name that i dont know,let me teach yo history now,the dub with cocoa tea and sanchez in combo was given to thinner one at a clash between black kat and odessey and the night of the clash 92 at ocean line when squingy was passing records,panthra was kicking up thinner one bad and him run and the world greatest took the sound and kill pantha that was the first night i heard pantha plays the garnett silk(soundboy havent i told you)pantha also plays the seaga talk which tell a sound bout one hand steve bc thinner one makes a talk.There is nothing you can tell me about odessey another sound,you know when lenny a spar with suzie q.Lata mi tell you more bout early days.

every time you talk you prove my point ,naming the trophy after squingy is a good move but its better to appreciate someone when they are alive than when they are dead ,because squingy will always be the best at what he did it would have been only fitting that he was honored while he was alive so that he would have known how the clash world valued him and what he did for the business and as far as the selectors you just name none of them can walk in squingy shoe ,watch any clash with them and odyssey ,squingy eliminates them ,they cant eliminate him thats the difference and by the way i am not new to this i am true to this i can name dubs odyssey have in their box you probably never heard and i have clashes with them from since 92 when i first became a fan

Dacnaughty it seems you are a young warrior just a come a sound war mi a veteran, who name Glamour Wayne,oh you know sky juice,why should chin name the thropy when squingy was alive?he would have to honor panther,matther one,sammy t,even trooper check yu ting man as me seh chin you are the greatest clash promoter just exclude the last one magnicently.

how could you guys make the last trophy the squingy trophy? i mean it is the last one right ? so if thats so then its needs 2 be a whole separate event the first squingy cup should be just that the first... that should be the next event the squingy cup... no good!!!

chin your doing the right thing ,naming the trophy after squingy is the right thing to do i just wish most people understand the difference ,the clash is still death before dishonor ,the trophy name the squingy cup ,but this should have been done when he was alive to see what he meant to the clash industry ,there will never be another selector than can come close to squingy none .
