Investigations into the murder of woman police constable Nyasha Joseph are continuing, with a 36-year-old woman being the latest person questioned by lawmen.
The woman, who is a mother of two, was said to be questioned by officers of the Homicide Bureau yesterday at length.
However, she was subsequently released by officers after cooperating with the lawmen.
The woman is said to be well known to a 38-year-old man who is in custody in relation to Joseph’s disappearance and killing.
She was said to have allegedly had a falling out with Joseph some days prior to her disappearance, and as a result, she was questioned.
However, other women close to the 38-year-old are expected to be questioned as well.
Currently at least two persons are said to be the main suspects in Joseph’s death - the 38-year-old man, and a 24-year-old suspect, nicknamed “Dole” who was detained on Friday last.
Other people are detained and said to be assisting with inquiries.
Nyasha Joseph went missing last week Thursday and her body was found in the Gulf of Paria on March 15th. Her family and co-workers became concerned when she did not report for duty at the Morvant Police Station.
It appears she was still in her police uniform when found.
How she died may be determined when a forensic autopsy is done.
Her body was found by fishermen working the waters off the Caroni swamp. It is being reported that the body was snagged by a fishing net and surfaced.
Nyasha Joseph was also the cousin of soca star Lyrikal.
