Track star Asafa Powell has tongues wagging about whether he is about to become a dad to the unborn child of media personality Amita.  The gossip sites are running over time however Amita says, “It’s no one’s concern but my own”. It’s amazing how as soon as any popular person in Jamaican media gets pregnant the concern is never for them or the well-being of their child but instead ‘who’s the baby daddy’. Amita is a final year student at the University of the West Indies is presently completing her degree in Banking and Finance and has no intention to leave the entertainment industry as she aims to venture into media production and marketing.

She still has her job with FiWi Choice and will only leave that she will be taking is her maternity leave. After almost three years as FiWi Choice’s host, she has gone through great criticism both good and bad from the show’s viewers and insist that she appreciates all of them as she uses them to help her grow in the industry. As for addressing rumours posted on several blog sites, Amita responds “I was slightly taken aback, but then again I work in media so I know better. I'm fully aware of the fascination. I understand the purpose and the power of suss.”
